About ISB
The Indian School of Business (ISB) is a research-oriented, independently managed institution that grooms future leaders. It emerged out of a need to create a benchmark for business schools internationally. What began as an idea is now an acknowledged institution for quality learning. The vision of the School is to become an internationally top-ranked, research-driven, independently managed institution for quality learning. It aspires to meet the growing need for young leaders with an understanding of evolving economies as well as a global perspective. The ISB is committed to its role in creating such leaders through its innovative programs, outstanding faculty and thought leadership. Please visit ISB’s website for details on programs/faculty. Within nine years of its inception in 2001, ISB has made a mark for itself as a premier B-School in India. Growing from a student base of 126 in class of 2002, to 579 students in the current batch, it has successfully pioneered several initiatives in the field of management education. Multiple learning opportunities during its one year program, unique portfolio model of faculty, diverse mix of students from different industries and backgrounds, GMAT score as a selection criterion, lateral placements, international quality research, are a few firsts at ISB.
Recently ISB has been placed 12th in the 2010 global MBA rankings released by the Financial Times, London, a jump of 3 ranks from 15th rank it had in 2009. This year the FT rankings place the ISB as second among Asian business schools, closely following CEIBS China. The FT ranking is the first independent endorsement of ISB’s single-minded goal to be recognized as a global centre of excellence in business education. The FT ranking is calculated on the basis of 20 criteria covering specifics like career progress of graduates, diversity of the MBA experience, international mobility of alumni, ideas generation and research, etc. It is noteworthy that the ISB has been placed at 88 in the research parameter of the ranking – an extraordinary feat in itself. In the next few years ISB aims at increasing the strength of its faculty and setting up more research centers. The school is committed to becoming a research hub with a focus on emerging markets as well as a knowledge partner to the industry.
